In Johnsbach, it's all about one thing: enjoying nature!
From leisurely walks and long hikes to one of the many mountain huts or alpine pastures in the region to climbing tours of varying degrees of difficulty, there is something for everyone. It is not without reason that the Gesäuse is known as the "university of mountaineering" and Johnsbach is part of the mountaineering villages.
There is also a mountain bike trail and a Kneipp path for cooling off on hot days.
The Odelstein Cave is just a stone's throw away from Haus 1683. Guided tours from the Koelblwirt lead into the Johnsbach underworld, which is rich in minerals.
Fancy a rafting or canyoning tour?
There are several adventure agencies in the region that are guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping. If you would prefer to explore the mountains under professional guidance rather than on your own, there is also an option for that. With a mountain guide from one of the region's alpine schools, you can enjoy unforgettable experiences at any time of year.

Nature and mindfulness
We have listed many ways to be active, but perhaps you would prefer to do nothing and indulge in idleness? Really pause and stay put, watching the snowflakes dance from your bathtub or bed. Relax and read a book you have always wanted to read, accompanied by the soft crackling of the fire in the fireplace.
Simply enjoy nature, watch the waterfall at "work," and listen to the meditative sound of the stream flowing by. Take advantage of the sauna or wine cellar and let your thoughts run free. House 1683—listen to your inner voice. It's your choice!
